EARLY MORNING COMPOST TRACKING

Early morning out while little one still slept I got to work on a tracking mystery when I took the compost out. I have been seeing squirrels in the fig and also... night squirrels as my friend Courtney calls them. Well I've only seen the night squirrel twice in the four years we've lived here, but I have seen quite a few night squirrel *parts* left kindly on our driveway by the neighborhood cats.
Based on my field guide, this does seem to be the size and shape of Brown Rat scat. It does seem to have fig seeds in it and figs are plentiful right here.
I got a chance to page through the squirrel pages of the guide though and made me think to pay more attention to the squirrels I see and try to learn which ones they are.
